Re: where to tap for gauge backlighting?

Look for light blue with red tracer. Easiest place to find it is probably the ash tray.

If I remember right you can use a fuse tap to tap into fuse #10 in the fuse pannel. Tap into the lower side. This will alow you to dim the guage lamps with the dash lights.

Re: where to tap for gauge backlighting?

I tapped into the headlight wire. I don't remember what color it was, it's yellow now (insulation was melted I replaced it when I installed relay kit) I ran the tap to a rheostat I got at an electronics salvage for 5 bucks. I mounted the rheostat just to the left of the WTS light. My thought was that at eye level I would be able to dim separately from the dash lights. It's worked out great and I like running the pod a bit dimmer than the dash.
