Who is good with e4od's in Houston?

HELP!! I have a 1993 1 ton 4x4, no turbo with e4od. The truck has 260k on it, but the trans was rebuilt a few years back and has about 100k on it. It is acting up now (shifting weird and doesnt want to go into overdrive when it warms up). I have read about how to check the FIPL, tach sensor and the harness into the transmission, but the problem is I am out of the country and cannot do these things myself. Is there a good, honest shop in Houston area anybody can reccomend that I can have the truck taken to?

Thanks!!

Brian

Re: Who is good with e4od's in Houston?

Thank you for replying, I have heard good things about them, but they are in Arkansas I believe and I am in Houston. I am looking for a local shop in Houston who understands how to diagnose the sensors first and rule them out as a possibility before trying to sell me a rebuild.

Re: Who is good with e4od's in Houston?

Hi~

No reals signs or symptoms such as Service Engine ligt, or blinking OD light. Speedo and tach seem to be OK from what they are telling me. The only indication is the transmission feels "soft" and that when it warms up it doesnt want to go into overdrive....Bad news??
