I have a 1979 f250 that i have converted from a 460 gas engine to a 1989 7.3 liter idi non turbo. after i put the motor in, it ran good for a couple days, then it started acting up. It takes forever to start, it looses its prime within a hour then i have to put the charger on it to jump it. Is there any check valves or places i should look at to see if it is sucking air in. When i did the swap, i put all new fuel lines on it and clamps. Thanks , Hunter

Did you do anything to the fuel lines from tank to engine?

Did you do anything to tank pickup? ie: tank fuel sender.

A 460 has the lift pump on the Drivers side, a 7.3 diesel has the lift pump on the Passengers side. You would of had to extend the fuel line to Pass side.

Do you have Dual fuel tanks?
