Wiring in a brake controller

Guys,

Can anyone tell me where to wire in my brake controller, I've looked all over under the dash and I can't find any sort of plug or harness for the brake controller on my 1993 F 350, thanks!!

Re: Wiring in a brake controller

If your truck has the tow package then the wires red/blue/white I think should be in the middle of the hump front possibly under the carpet/insulation. Check the engine fuse box for relay and fuses applicable to the towing package.......look in your VOManual 7.3 Diesel supplement for fuse locations.

Re: Wiring in a brake controller

Well after I crawled back into it I found the plug to wire in the controller, it was tucked away on the passenger side of the gear shifter , oh well, I'm good to go right, not really! I slid under under the truck and the wiring harness that should have been there is not, I can't find any large cables that would be designated for trailer charging, I do however have the trailer fuse box under the hood

Re: Wiring in a brake controller

Did you look at the rear bumper area, the trailer battery wire is not a huge wire like a battery cable, it's only for charging.

Re: Wiring in a brake controller

Peter,

Shouldn't the charging battery be at 10 to 12 guage in size?

Re: Wiring in a brake controller

So guy's, I've come to find out that my truck is wired under the dash for a brake controller and has a seperate fuse box under the hood for a trailer that's loaded with fuses and relays, unfortunately there are NO wires run to the rear of the truck! Have any of you had to run brake and charging wires for your trailer, if so where did you go to connect them?

thanks, Stefan
