If its still running, go out and unhook the wire on top of your pump on the drivers side that is closest to you (the wire on the driver side of the pump farthest towards the front of the engine.) that'll shut it off...sounds like you have a short...Sounds like a weekend of wire tracing is on your horizon.

You need to give us info on your truck, basically year, model, drivetrain info and anything else which you think is important for us to know.
The fuel shut-off solenoids power should be cut-off when the ignition is turned off. The FSS gets it's power from the glow plug relay. It is a red/light green wire. The solenoid appears to be stuck in the open position, or someone did some messing around with some wiring. Try tapping on the solenoid to see if it helps. I don't know if the solenoid itself is serviceable, or if the injection pump must be replaced. Tim
Sorry, just a desparate moment. 94 F250 7.3 IDI
I dont see a wire to the top of the pump.
This truck is brand new to me, just picked it up. Trouble already

Saw such a problem on my CD the other day, can't find it now. visit my gallery below and search for IP pics. The wire is the front drivers side of the injection pump (one with all the lines) center front of the engine.
As you said you disconnected the battery(s) disconnect negative cables on both batteries. If it is standard try and stall the engine, if auto you will have to squeeze the rubber return line hose from the IP to #2 injector until it stalls.

Toys: 26'Jayco FK TT, 18'Sylvan Pro Fish.
Follow the fuel line from the filter to the FSS (fuel shutdown solenoid) tap with a handle of a screw driver.
Look close it has 1 wire to the coil of the solenoid, the other side of the coil goes to ground. Check with a test light, with key off there should be no test light.
With key ON, the test light will illuminate.
If the key is on, and you have an illuminated test light, you problem is electrical.
If you have NO test light the problem is mechanical, solenoid is stuck open.
Vice grip on the rubber hose, as it leaves the lift pump will kill the engine.

When seated behind the wheel, it is to the right side,
just follow the stainless steel line from the fuel filter to the top of the Injection Pump, as it goes to the IP is where you will find the FSS.

I tried calling but no answer,
Here is another suggestion,
Remove the air cleaner,
get a piece of plastic bag, 12" x 12", and snuff the engine by restricting the air intake, choke the bit**.
Don't let anything get sucked in, and don't use a towel soaked with anything petrol.

Please be so kind as to put much needed info in your signature, go to "My Home" at the top of the page then "Personal info" click "Edit" put "all known" particulars for your truck/van in the signature block, any other info you feel worthwhile in other parts of this area. Fill in the "geographic location" too it is just as important, members can then direct you to the best known suppliers for parts, repairs, fuel etc closest you by location/ area/country. You could be just around the corner from a member willing to assist you or a parts store with what you need..
THANK YOU
