WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A DIFFRNCE!!!!

Man ok i got up this morning and i tunred the external screw back in a few turns cause of the rev limit problem which it goes to 3100 now and thats plenty for me. But then i turned up the internal which i have to say is really hard to turn cause i couldnt find me a 5/32 socket, but i got it turned one full turn and crap!!!!! I mean to tell you it picks up alot better im getting 14 pounds of boost and pushing it to 80mph real quick didnt even get over 825 degrees now. Man what a diffrence!! I really appreciate the help yall have given me. The intercooler incoming pipe is still cool to the touch cause its about 75 degrees outside, but it runs 5 times better than before. Black smoke? lets talk about it...theres a crap load now!!! Im loving it. Friday im going to run it at or 1/8 mile drag strip in sealy w/o nitrous and then with the nitrous (maybe) we will see. Ill give yall results on that later.

Again Thanks!!!

Hehehe! That's cool!!! A full turn on the internal screw is a lot.

I dunno maybe you have already thought of the following stuff, but I just thought I'd warn you because I don't want you to blow your head gaskets or something.

Now that you have black smoke, the nitrous will work real good! I don't know what all you have done to your motor, but I'd suggest going easy with the Nitrous (especially since you are running 14 PSI boost already). A 35 HP shot would probably be more than enough (I'm just guessing, It may take a bigger or smaller shot). Any more and your head gaskets might decide they need to belch because of the extra boost and combustion force! You might also break some head bolts if you don't have studs.

If your Banks turbo has a wastegate, I would set the wastegate to open at 12 PSI (that's what I've heard is the best for these old girls). If you don't have a wastegate, I would keep an eye on the boost gauge and ease off of her when she starts overboosting 12 PSI.

Give Ken at DPS a call and see what he thinks as far as how much boost and Nitrous for your motor!

Re: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A DIFFRNCE!!!!

Awesome, those are great numbers and it sounds like you can move even further on the fuel screw if you are only hitting 850*. I would let the external screw out. LEt the big dog run. Anyhow, with your intercooler, you should be able to boost up to 15psi. The reason people say 12psi, is because after 12psi without an intercooler, you are heating the intake charge so much, you are not seeing gains. But you have the cooler, so run it. The worst you can do is pop a headgasket, and since you already have 1/2" headbolts, you are probably good to 15psi. It sounds like you have it nailed. If you add some propane or water injection into the mix, you will really turn some awesome numbers. Scotty

Re: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A DIFFRNCE!!!!

Ya after seeing what boost im running im not to sure about doing the nitrous right now. I may control the boost to 12 then maybe spray it we will see. I only hit 14psi when it reving high in third gear or in 4th and 5th it gets there pretty quick. Oh well ill think about it.
