Once again hello to all, I recently joined and would like everyone's opinion. I'm running 87 f250 4x4 w/fz 5 speed truck has 525000 miles on and still running strong till today, getting a slight knock in the bottom end so time to rebuild. I'll give a brief description of use to give an idea what my goals are.
I specialize in fuels reduction, fire prevention, and suppression and truck has a custom built modular rail attachments system most of the time I'm just using my flat dump bed, and during fire seasons I use 1000 gallon foam equipped suppression unit. Living in the CA/OR border region terrain is steep, and temps 100+ in summer. Truck spends close to 40% of the time off road and in 4wd.
With that said here's what I have in mind, keeping the 6.9 platform, and adding the banks sidewinder, im not looking for "max boost/power" I'm looking for max reliability, so here are my concerns about adding the turbo, oil and water temps," loading up" due to extended idle times, and mainly overall reliability. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
