Check valve

ive got an 87 and it loses prime once in a while. Is there a check valve after the return lines on the pump or somewheres in the system. My thoughts are that it could be sticking open then sucking air from the tank. I also have a leaky injector line which i just ordered a new line to replace. Thanks for any help.

How do your return lines look? Clean and dry or damp? Damp return lines are often the problem.
Do you have all the clamps on your injector lines? I think there should be 4 of them, the lines will crack without the clamps supporting them.

If you mean the steel line, if the leak is above/below the plastic cap that would usually be the orings........ above the cap nut is usually the line, resetting the line alignment and retorquing the cap nut... sometimes seals them off. As stated all the steel line vibration clamps (4) MUST be installed in the correct locations or line cracking/vibration wear is a given.

If there is a leak where fuel is getting out then that is a fair target for air to be getting in ...
