If not a switch/wiring problem to the shutdown solenoid, sounds like it's hanging up. Should be easy to check with a test light.

Not really, the instant you shut the ignition off you've got no timing.

big99- you probably have debris in the fuel shut off solenoid. You can remove the top cover to see. If there is debris you need to find where it came from. (possible internal pump damage)

Re-adjust the ignition switch. Just a quick test the next time it keeps running, reach under the dash and jiggle the linkage on the ignition switch. If it shuts off the the switch is sticky or mis-adjusted, a $10 part from Autozone.

Try pulling the wire right off the IP and see what happens. May have to try it a few times if the problem is intermittent. Should tell you if the problem is in the FSS or ignition switch.

If you pulled the wire from the IP and it didn't shut off then it's the FSS and not the ignition. Did you pull the front or rear wire?

Yeah, I should have specified- the right, front wire. If you pull it and the truck keeps running, the problem is with the FSS, not the ignition switch.
