Question Glowplugs

i have a 86 f-250 with a 6.9 and i was wondering what the glowplug looks like in that motor. because the plugs that are in here are not spade conector they have a round contector on there. are they the right ones for my truck.

i heard beru's are good where can i get them and how do i test them

They switched the plug style in 87. Check ebay for glow plugs. I got my set of wellmans witch are just as good as beru's for like 67 and some change shipped to my door. To check the plugs you need a ohm meter or a test light. ohm reading should be 2 ohms or less. If you use the test light it just needs to be lit.

Sounds like you may have the "bullet" connector GP's . they are Ford ZD9's. You can get them here 6.9 Ford Diesel parts Fuel Injection Turbocharger

If he has a 6.9 he should have the spades the 7.3 s had the bullets . so he might have a 7.3 or wrong plugs. Correct? when I swapped engines quite of few people told me I couldnt use the 6.9 plugs in the 7.3. I check the spec's and the only differnece i saw was the connectors. But I decided to put the correct one's for the engine back in.

I had the bullets in my 86 F350. Someone swapped them in and used cheap bullet connectors. 3 of the tips on teh GP's were blown out, I dont know if it was because of them being Autolites, the wrong GP's, busted GP controller or use of ether. I ordered some motorcraft spades and will be redoing the connectors on the harness just to make sure.
