Once in awhile, not all the time, the truck has been sounding like its out of fuel, im running off the front tank (back has a small leak if i remember right) and i have put on a new water/fuel seperator, new mechanical fuel pump and i recently put on a rebuilt injection pump myself and timed it to...what sounds right... the tank is full and sometimes after coming down from a rev it will sputter like my dads 7.3 does when its got barely any fuel left, yet this motor wont stall no matter how much it sputters and shakes, do yall think maybe its air from the fuel tank selector? as when i go to purge the air it squirts bubbles, then when theyre all gone, the engine idles just fine again. it only does it maybe 30% of the time when the trucks running, the rest of the time its business as it should be. im thinking maybe fuel selector valve or the fuel lines leading up to the seperator? or could it be a clogged injector or bad i-pump timing (is that what will cause excesssssssive fuel comsumption...i use quarter a tank idling in the driveway for 30 min and there is no fuel leaks to be found on the ground)? do the injector lines have anything to do with this (the rubber tubes connecting the injectors together) ANY IDEAS of how i can tell??? ive pretty much done everything on my own and im boggled on this last little problem (other than trying to make it go faster than 60mph with the 4.10 posi and c-6 auto)
thanks to all....brad
Alright this things got everything, my dad bought it new in 85 and its been a project of mine since 1997 or so, new fenders, doors, hood, another bed put on with less dents.....junkyard 6.9 motor with 50k on it (old motor had 130k and all the water jackets clogged with the high silicate anti freeze and the motor blew a water passage internally), new axle seals, new calipers, new exhaust from the y-back, new water fuel seperator, new front springs i took off a junk superduty and modified to put 3 leaves in, new shocks, new radiator, new rear bumper, new u-joints, FULLY UNDERCOATED FOR NO MORE RUST WOO HOO, my dad helped me rebuild the floors from the years of plowing and salting, newly fabricated rockers and fenders and cab supports (200 hours in darn body-building and its still not perfect) fully sealed and painted black.

its been since last winter prolly in early feb, i only replaced the lift pump and the i-pump at the same time, injectors are origionals, maybe a hole in a metal line or junk in an injector?......but im getting air at the filter tower...

i think i found a problem, DOES ANYONE HAVE A GOOD DIAGRAM OF THE INJECTOR LINES (the rubber tubes) and where they go.....do they all connect to each other or go to a return line?????
when i put the new motor in a few years ago i did it all by memory and may have screwed them up....
or can someone explain how maybe.....where they go......

PM me your email addy and I will send a pic........
However....... they go down each side and cross over at the back injector to the return line knipple on the drvrs side, from there the fuel goes back to the fuel tank selected.
