Which radiator core?

1987 6.9 with air....... Is there a way to determine which radiator core I need to order without taking it out and measuring/ inspecting? rockauto list heavy duty and standard duty cores.

1992 F250, 5 speed, extended cab, replaced 7.3 with 6.9 2-5-08 ...will be replaced with 94 7.3

Standard is probably a single core; HD is probably a 2-core, but in any case, more cores than standard. Check the details on RA to find out how many cores each one has, then pull your radiator cap & look inside. If the coolant is low or clear (weak) enough, you can see the ends of the core tubes sticking through the endplates into the tank. This diagram shows a 1-core radiator:



Or if RA lists the core thickness, you can just measure yours (or eyeball its thickness).
