Stuck metering valve or bad injs or linkage prob?

Hey guys....How goes it? My truck is giving me a pain in the tail with decelerating or braking it isn't stalling but really has excessive surge and almost stalls out. It seems to have a slight ticking noise too, but this is only audible in the cab not undr the hood....I'd be interested to hear any opinions on thsi problem. the book says
1) Bad injectors 2) stuck metering vgalve 3) Idle set too low 4) retarded timing
I doubt it could be bad injs...I replaced them 22K miles back, and the fuel has been kept clean. Any ideas?
J.D.

This happens to these pump when you use the dry winter blend. Throw some stanadyne or power service in it and see what happens.

Re: Stuck metering valve or bad injs or linkage prob?

JD check the fuel pedal cable see if it is touching number 8 injection line....Tick Tick................

You know the drill, how full is the tank <1/4 full.....by all means check for continual power to the FSS key on........wiggle the harness and check all connectors on the pax fender.

Re: Stuck metering valve or bad injs or linkage prob?

Yeah I know no winter blend here....we were down in the 30s last night and we think that is COLD...but the tanks is prob aboutr 1/2 full, the pickup has been fixed recently in any case....I doubt intermittent power to FSS but you never know...
