Water in crankcase

Hey guys I need some help. i have a 1985 f350 dump with 95,000 miles. I had very low oil pressure and found that water entered through the top of the engine due to a clogged valley drain. I replaced the rods and main bearings the crank was OK installed a new valley pan gasket water pump, oil pump and oil cooler. I had my radiator flushed and then i ran dish soap through the whole engine and back flushed it. The truck runs great it 45lbs of oil pressure cold and 20lbs idling at temp. the kicker is after the truck sat over night i removed the oil plug and nice clean water came out (about one half quart) before the oil but, its not mixed or foamy. The oil on the dip stick is very clean with no sign of water.

When i had the motor tore down i found evidence that something fell down in the oil fill tube there was gauling and the ip gear housing is cracked.
i repaired the crack with jb weld but saw no other damage. i cant tell if the gears were changed. There was no damage to the gears. Does anyone think it is possible for water to enter the engine through a crack in the water jacket when the engine is off and not foam up ? i cant see a crack but i dont know what else could be happening. I will be taking the water pump off tomorrow to inspect it closer for any signs of a crack. I saw some water at the bottem of the oil fill neck not much but its there if i wipe it up it comes back. I did not replace the head gaskets i was told that these truck will smoke alot and run poorly if they are bad and since the truck ran well with no smoke i left them alone i should have changed them i know. any ideas would be helpful. thanks

Have you considered the oil cooler...... normally the oil goes to the coolant side and shows up in the rad/overflow.

Normally when coolant gets into the oil system it is a greenish slime on the valve covers.... but it may separate and oil floats.

Had a fellow with similar problems a few years back...... Found out the valley pan did not seat right on the heads....... he too tore down the water pump etc first and found no problems there. Did your heads have frost plugs where the VP mates on the heads.
