12V LCD flat screen TV for RV - where to find??

Looking for a flat screen 12 volt TV for the RV - where can one find these things??-------lots of 120V but 12V is seemingly hard to come by -- they do exist as they are in the new Lance campers but not sure where they come from and local dealer was not forthcoming with the info.

Get a 120VAC unit that will meet your needs. Then go to Walmart and get a 75W inverter for $20 that plugs into the 12VDC Power port. That's how I power my laptop in my truck. Works great!

Re: 12V LCD flat screen TV for RV - where to find??

Most electronics run on 12 volts DC these days. They plug into 110V and have some sort of rectifing circuit to bring that down to 12 Volts. Don't know about LCD tv's but ask an electronics guy. Probably can convert a 110 volt model to 12 volt quite easily.

Re: 12V LCD flat screen TV for RV - where to find??

A few links to 12 VDC stuff, in no particular order:

http://tv.rca.com/en-US/ModelDetail.html?MN=15L500TD
http://www.avdeals.ca/MARSHALL/lcdMonitor/vlcd12.htm
http://www.avbits.com/acatalog/LCD_TV_Tuner.html

http://www.tvauthority.com/Miscellan...ewsonic-N4.asp
http://www.tvauthority.com/Miscellan...ewsonic-N6.asp

Several of those are 12V tuners that you can use to drive a 12V display you could also use with a computer. Grope through what comes back from this query but watch out for PAL stuff from Europe.

Re: 12V LCD flat screen TV for RV - where to find??

I was looking at small (13"-15") LCD flat screen tv's before Christmas and some I saw at Sam's Club were 12V models. The TV power supply was a 12V transformer.
The current rating of the transformer was 3.6 Amps. on one I looked at as I was seriously thinking of using it in a camper re-model and wanted to see if it would be possible.
