5th wheel lift kit

I am in search of some two inch blocks to lift my 5er so that it will be level when I am hooked to my lifted truck. Does anyone know where I can purchase these blocks. The leafs under the trailer are only 1 1/2" wide so truck blocks will not work unless I have them cut down. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

If you don't have your axles "flipped" the blocks will not help you.

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

The leafs came on top of the axle from the factory, so I need blocks. If they had been on the bottom like the saleperson told me they were I would have just flipped them. I should have looked for myself instead of listening to a salesperson.

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

If you are close to a metal slavage yard , buy the size blocks you want. If you can, drill the correct hole throuh the center. you will also need a pin to locate on the spring pearch, probably take the one out of the existing blocks. Then get longer u-bolts and install.

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

I did just as Oldman said to do, I went with aluminum bar stock and cut the blocks to size and drilled the pearch hole. Using aluminum was fine on the trailer because there is no power being applied and it is easy to work with.

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

I went to the local spring\suspension shop and purchased some 2" blocks and longer u bolts for my fiver. I also changed out the tires\wheels from 225-75-15 to 235-85-16 load range E truck tires which gave me close to 2".

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

I went to a metal shop and had the right size blocks (width & lenght) made out of solid steal. I did'nt feel comfortable with those casted aluminum blocks with 9K-10K #'s on them. I drilled it and and use a grade 8 allen head bolt and bolted it to the spring. The allen head was the perfect size for the perch locating hole. Get longer u bolts and your good as gold.

Good Luck

Re: 5th wheel lift kit

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the info. Decided to buy some stock material and build my own. Was just on a time crunch to get it done and thought there might be someone out there that sold them. Thanks again. VH
