5th Wheel recommendations for the 6.0 L. ? - Diesel Forum

I am sure that this topic will get moved but I was hoping to get some advice on shopping for a 5th Wheel for 6 people (wife + 4 kids).

Get a small one. That way you can tow an extra car behind it for when your 6oh fails you'll have a set of wheels. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img] just kidding.
If you have ATV's, scooters or a bunch of camping junk, I would recommend a toy hauler. We love our Raptor. It can sleep 8, I think, if you get the bunk beds in the garage. More if you get a sofa sleeper also.

Check the pin weights. By the time you load the family in the truck & load the trailer you can easily exceed the GVWR of the F250.

Wildcat 31(QBBH),Pilgrim,Keystone,Springdale and Forest River..These are all good brands of 5th wheels..

Take a hard look @ Hitchhiker.They are built much better than many. May cost a little more, but a tour through the factory will show you why.

We love are Cardinal It is large and heavy but I have not found a 1 ton truck that pulls it better then this 6.0 with the 4:10 gears

I have a Wildcat 31QBH-4 bunks in the rear and Queen bed up front. Nicely laid out unit and my 04 6.0 pulls it like a dream. We have three daughters 7,8,and 10, so I'm somewhat of an expert on kid hauling!
