Thinking about taking the plunge, but can't seem to find any Super Cab lariets within a 100 miles. Have located a few FX4's, but they all have the 20 inch tire option. It sure makes that rear end look high. Was wondering if anyone has installed a 5th wheel hitch in a 350 with the 20 inch tires. If so, how much adjustment did you have to do? Thanks

F-250 Lariat 4x4 stock tires will be 275/70R18, 627 revs/mile, 33.2" diameter.
Optional 20s would be 275/65R20, 605 revs/mile, 34.1" diameter. That's almost an inch difference in diameter, and 3.5 percent difference in revs/mile.
Converted to something meaningful, when the F-250 with 18" tires was cruising at 1,900 RPM, the one with 20s would be cruising at 1,833 RPM at the same speed.
The static loaded radius of the 18" tire is 15.54". The static loaded radius of the 20" tire is 15.93". So with everything else being equal, the difference in the height of the top of the tailgate would be 0.39", or almost a half inch.

So now I assume you meant that the LQ part of the trailer is 10'. Most horse trailers with living quarters (LQ) have an 8' to 12' long LQ and the rest of the trailer is for tach room and horse stalls. Some have an even bigger LQ part of the trailer. Sundowner makes one with a 17' LQ, tripple axles and over 40' long. It requires a "real truck" to tow that one.

Man, I have NEVER seen a F350, or in fact any full size ford truck with 20" tires!!! My work car has taller tires than that. 20" tires are bearly bigger than the brake rotors. I quess the plus side, is there would be next to no rubber, should be very cheap tires, exactly what load rating are these tiny 20's? And does this tire size option come with a very tall rear end gear ratio or is the top speed approx 38.5 MPH???
I would recomend going with 18" or 20" WHEELS and then 33"-35" TIRES.

How about some 22.5" Tires and Wheels:
If they end up too tall.... have you thought to horse-trade at an autowrecker? Or just buy 17" take-offs? Maybe they will even swap them around at the dealer for you?

90 F250 4x4, 7.3 IDI, 5spd, 3.55s, D60 swap, straight pipe, turned up fuel screw
If it has factory 20's it probably has the light rear springs. I added air bags for a customer that hauled a 5er with 20's. The light rear leafs were losing the battle. I haul on 17's when I have the choice.
