97 f-250 trailer brakes

ok i have the plug under the dash for the brake controller pig tail i plugged in the controller and it gets signal, my question is the harness at the rear of the truck theres two plugs coming out of the same harness, one 4 wire and one 3 wire connector the 4 wire is the flat 4 for trailer lights now is the 3 wire the others required for a 7 way brake set up just curious as all my other trucks already had the hookup thanks for any help

the 4 way should be both turn and brake lights and clereance and ground. the other 3 should be power all time and brake activation and backup.make sure you use a 30 amp fuse or breaker for power all the time.
