adjusting brake controller?

I need info on adjusting the brake controller on my '99 F250. Mine is the factory Tekonsha Voyager. It has an adjustment on both sides (just little rotary thumb dials). There was no manual in my truck when I got it. I just know the last time I connected a trailer with brakes, the brakes immedietly locked up on the trailer and I havent messed with it since. I have never used trailer brakes, but I am about to buy a car hauler with brakes and I want it to work correctly.

Any guidence?

Thanks,
RG

Re: adjusting brake controller?

Just fiddle with it until it feels right.

Adjust all controls to highest and work down from there.
