auto transporting question's

i have been asked by a local dealer to go south and haul some cars back for them.wondering how you bill,round trip or only loaded.also what is the standerd rate now.i am able to run 2 on the deck and 1 on the wheel lift on the back of the trailer,so that will save on pin weight.also would i have to get some other policey to cover this other then the one on the truck and trailer?i have a good policey now for running scap car's.i already have the dot#and equipment for this so i anm good there.thanks for any help.

Presuming that you have a commerical policy on your rig as private use policies will not cover you.

Do you have enough cargo insurance? The rate should be for loaded miles, but it is whatever your agreement is with the dealer. How far will you have to deadhead? Suggestion, don't do it too cheap, make a reasonable profit.

If the Dealer is asking you...you should determine your expenses and make a profit...one of the major problems in todays transportation world is everybody quotes a price just to beat the next/previous guys price this just causes rates to go down without a true understanding of how it got there. If they are asking you they must be looking for better service not always the cheapest price.
