B&W question

I bought a used B&W and put it in yesterday and works great. I do have one problem though, how can you make it a one man operation? Right now, the lever will not stay back on its own so I can crawl in the bed and flip the ball. I guess I could wedge a board to make it stay but is there a way to make it stay on its own?

Re: B&W question

If you look at how it works, the lever pulls out and you slip it sideways,, (Forward or back,,not sure) I have ONLY Messed with my lever one time since I got the truck with the B&W ball in it,, But I couldnt get it to stay out either,,thought the spring was messed up. LOOK CLOSE at how it "Locks" out,, maybe just operator error....like me. OR you may have to get a spring or some other hardware,, or MAYBE it is just bent slightly and wont "Catch"... lay under it and see what you can figure out.. nothing major I know,,and it IS SUPPOSED to be a "One man" operation!

Re: B&W question

Pull the lever out toward you and twist it to the left and move the lever toward the front or rear of the truck. It will catch and lock, such that you can flip the ball. Don't forget to release it so that the ball is locked in.

Re: B&W question

Thanks for the replies guys, I will give that a shot. I will crawl under there and look. I did try to move it back & forth and feels like it should catch but never did.

Exactly, this is how mine works too.

Pull lever outward, turn and move frontward or backward. This locks it in place. Jump in bed and turn ball. Jump out bed and turn lever for it to retract.
