brake controller

Got a 2001 F250 power stroke. I need a brake controller and I am looking for suggestions. I pull a 24ft Pontoon boat or a 30ft 5th wheel camper. I know that it just should just plug in up under the dash. I have seen some adds here and there, but I have no idea what features I really need/want.

Clueless but still looking.

Re: brake controller

Keep reading. Here and in the archives. Three big names come up. Jordan, Prodigy, and Brakesmart. Each have thier good points, but each one has their drawbacks. I know which one I like, but it is up to you to do the research and figure out which one you like. You are the one that has to pull that trailer.

Re: brake controller

Brake Smart, Jordan, Prodigy. The brake smart is the one that gets my nod for ease of installation and best performance. The Jordan is a little harder to install and has been reported to work very well. I have owned two Prodigy an do not think they compare to the first two. I have the brake smart now and glad I sprung for the extra money for it.

Re: brake controller

Speaking of Brakesmart, does anyone know if they're shipping yet? I'm still waiting on a call from Steve. I haven't called in a couple of weeks.

Re: brake controller

If you want ease of installation, you cant go wrong with the Prodigy. It will be the easiest installation of the 3 listed, and will work fine for what you are going to do.
