Which brake controller to buy???

I have been waiting for Brake Smart to start production again but it seems they no longer have a web site. What are my options and any links would be appreciated. I don't tow real heavy but the car trailer does have brakes on it and I would like for them to work.

Thanks

DR.Performance in Texas is now the manufacturer and distributor for Brakesmart. Good people to deal with. This website http://www.brakesmart.biz/index.html has all the info from the old Brakesmart site. Not cheap but well worth the money. If it is too expensive for you it appears that the Tekonsha Prodigy is well regarded by all who use it and can be had online for under $100.

Re: Which brake controller to buy???

Just went to Dr. Performance site about the BrakeSmart, to bad they do not offer a basic and deluxe style. The basic unit would do just the brakes while the deluxe would be what they advertise, with all the other stuff that I do not have on my tractor hauling goose. I just need great dependable brake action since my trailer does not have air ride or anything else fancy. Strip that stuff off and it would most likely be more reasonably priced.

Re: Which brake controller to buy???

Most people that have used both the Prodigy and Jordan prefer the Jordan Controller. Jordan is a proportional controller that utilizes a cable attached to the brake pedal to measure breaking. I have a Prodigy and it works very well but my friend's Jordan seems smoother to me.

Here is the link to Jordan's web site http://www.jordanbrake.com/

Re: Which brake controller to buy???

I heard that Hensley is coming out with a brake controller maybe this summer that will coordinate with a T/H transmission by engaging the trailer brakes as the vehicle slows down even if the tow vehicle brakes are not engaged.
