Brake Controller Install '02 Superduty

Anyone have experience installing a Drawtite 5100 Actuator? My truck came prep'ed with tow package(no brake controller)and supplied with plug&play whip. All wires are ringing out at the 7way plug recpticle, all lights & brakes function. The problem is with the controller. When the output slide(not the manual brake actuator) is moved to higher level the output light comes on and engages brake with out depressing brake pedal. Brakes do not release until slide is returned to lowest setting. Additionally when the brake pedal is depressed the output light does not come on as the instruction imply. I have e-mailed Drawtite but have not as of yet heard back. Any suggestions? The trouble shooting section of the install instructions does not cover this particular probem. Chris

I had one in my truck and it worked ok. Do you have the wiring correct on the controller to the harness, I remember that the color code is not color to matching color. I can check the one that I had it is still in my toolbox.

Re: Brake Controller Install '02 Superduty

Apparently the correct connection is to the lt. green/yellow stripe lead in the factory supplied plug&play whip. This lead goes to the brake light switch and should be connected to the red lead coming from the controller. The brakes now function as the instructions imply.
