Brake controller wiring question.

I was wanting to know what the illumination feed wire is for on the plug I recieved from the dealer tonight. anyone know if it is needed.

It was not needed for my Prodigy unit.

ford puts it on the plug. dont need. good p[lace for lights in guages if you ever put them on the truck.

Good call on using the illum. feed for aux. guages! I put a pyro in my last truck and had a heck of a time finding a dimmer controlled wire for the lamp in the guage. Ended up tying in to the main dimmer feed coming out of the back of the light switch but it was a bit of a job. Do the newer trucks with factory brake controllers (like mine) still have the aux. brake controller plug (in that same fabulous location) or at least an auxillary light connection?? THANKS, Perry.
