Brakesmart Controller Dilemma

I'm picking up my new gooseneck trailer in a week and a half in Ohio. I'm installing my B&W hitch this week. I spoke to Steve at Brakesmart a couple of weeks ago regarding ordering a controller and he took my name and number down and said he'd call me when they were in. Assuming I don't get the call tomorrow, I need to order another controller in order to install it this week so I can leave on the 18th to pick up my trailer. What I plan to do is buy an interim controller that I will sell once the Brakesmart becomes available. Can anyone suggest a decent controller that's easy to install? I've heard mentioned one that plugs right in but I can't remember which one it was.

Re: Brakesmart Controller Dilemma

Tekonsha's Prodigy will serve you well. Simple plug & play install and it'll be easy to sell. It's probably the most popular of electronic brake controllers and easily purchused anywhere for a tad of a hundred bucks.

Re: Brakesmart Controller Dilemma

Of the std. electric controllers, the Prodigy is the best. I have been pretty happy with mine.

I am in line for a Brake Smart too.

Re: Brakesmart Controller Dilemma

PS They sell a jumper harness with two connector prewired for them too. That way, all you do is plug in one end to the controller & one end to the factory connector.

You don't need to wire up the factory pigtail with only one connector on it.
