OK, I have the camper package as part of the truck. what exactly does that do for me. I believe that it added a leaf spring to the rear, and upgraded the front springs. How much does that increase my GVCWR?
Thanks,
Rick

I dont think it will raise your GCVWR. It just gives you suspension upgrades, like the swaybar, overload springs in the rear, heavier front springs, and the slide-in camper certification.

The main purpose is to allow you to haul a slide-in truck camper and keep your factory warranty - provided you don't overload the pickup per the camper certification piece of paper in the glovebox.
But an F-250 won't haul much of a camper without overloading the pickup. So I hope you didn't order the camper pkg expecting to be able to haul a real slide-in camper. Maybe a 4-Wheel Camper or some such?
The camper pkg includes the rear stabilizer bar, rear "overload" springs, and slightly heavier front coil springs - unless your truck already had the max 6,000-pound capacity springs without the camper pkg. Plus it includes that "camper certification" piece of paper in the glovebox that says your pickup is equipped to haul a very light slide-in camper.
And no, it doesn't increase the GVWR or GCWR of your pickup. In fact, it slightly decreases the net payload you can haul because of the weight of the stuff in the camper pkg. Overload springs and sway bars weigh something, but the GVWR and GCWR is the same as a truck without them.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I was just curious if it actually did anything for me as far as increasing towing, hauling capacities. I currently have a 34' camper weighing about 8000lbs dry. I know I am well withing the limits of the truck, just curious.
Also, If the 250 and 350 are the same truck, why can it handle more weight. Does the 4" block in the rear make that much difference? I wouldn't think so, but I'm not an engineer. Or is there really more differences between them?
Thanks,
Rick
