Just picked up an 06 F250 XLT crew cab long bed V10 and it has the Tow Command package. I'm just wondering, can you bypass the integrated brake controller? Anyone know if the truck still has the wire block to connect an external brake controller? I have a Prodigy from my previous truck, I'm wondering if I should keep it in the truck as a backup in case I have a problem with the integrated controller.

Yep, it still has the harness, only it is plugged into the back of the integrated unit. Just unplug it and it should plug right into your prodigy assuming you left the harness attached to it.

I am VERY impressed with Ford for doing this. I guess they wanted to allow a work around in case the Factory unit died on someone on the road.

Agreed, I will prolly throw the one from my '99 in the glove box just in case. I do have to say tho, it would be hard to go back to another controller after using the integrated one, it is a very nice unit, I am totally impressed with how well it works! I believe, if what I have read is true, that the integrated controller is actually a re-packaged Prodigy. So if you are used to the performance of the Prodigy, you should like the integrated.
