I've got a 2001 30' TT w/slide rm approx. 8K empty. It seems to be time to buy new tires and I need help. I replaced one tire last season because it had a big bubble in the sidewall, now I have another tire with the same problem. Should I replace the other three tires to match the one I put on last year? I seem to remember some discussion here about Carlisle tires some being made in the USA and some in China, but I don't remember which one was better or should I buy 4 new of another brand and keep the one I bought last year for a spare? The one I bought last season was made in USA, the others I have had problems with were made in China. If I should get 4 new what brand does everybody endorse? The tires are (Radial Trail/Load Range D/ST225/75R15) Tanks in advance.

I would seriously consider replacing all the tires with another brand. My preference would be the Cooper, Titan, or Greenball trailer tires. All three of these companies offer tires in the size and load range that you currently are using. All three of these companies have web sites where you can look at their products.
I have not heard a lot of good comments about the Carlisle trailer tires.

I found a set at Discount Tire they are (Greenball Transmaster load range "E") is this a good replacement? They also have (Goodyear Marathons)???
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't help you much with the Greenball's. I've never heard of them (doesn't mean much).
I have a set of Marathon's on my 24' enclosed car hauler and absolutely love them. Iand I don't baby them either.
Had those crappy carlisle's on my open car hauler and had nothing but trouble with them. Constantly blowing sidewalls out.

I got Goodyear Marathons and no problems. Think they had a bad batch a few years ago but haven't heard anything negative lately. Just run them at max side wall pressure.

In 15" there's only one true choice as far as I'm concerned and that's Cooper. I went thru this problem for the past 8yrs and Cooper solved the problem.
I will never put Carlisle on anything I own as there junk tires and a waste of money. Titan's are not much better. Goodyears are over priced.
If you can, I would consider changing too 16" as then you have such a wide choice of tires.

Buy UNION work UNION. It pays off in the long run Define Union: A labor Union is nothing more than united workers with a common goal for better working conditions.
We all are in some sort of labor Union, some are just larger than others with better working conditions!

Another vote for Cooper. My 5er came with Marathons. Blew out three of them in short order. Replaced all 5 with Cooper ST225/75R15D on 6" wide rims. That was about 4 years ago, and I've put about 60,000 miles on those tires up until last month. Then I replaced 3 of them with Coopers, put the spare on the ground, and put the best of the 3 old ones on the spare. Heading out on a 5,000-mile round trip in a couple of weeks, with no trailer tire worries.
My Cooper dealer is proud of them. This year I couldn't get him down below $120 out the door per tire. Four years ago they were less than $100 out the door (taxes, mounted, balanced, enviromental fees, etc.)
Note the Custom Trailer Plus doesn't have Cooper's name anywhere on it. But it's a Cooper.

BOATS! here in Indiana... used 3-4 months out of the year, and parked in garage for the rest.
2001 Rinker Captiva, replaced 3 of the 4 original carlisle tires, at different times due to tread bubbling up and pieces flying off of the tire. Just did the 3rd one this weekend. tires are 4 years old.
1994 Mariah, still has original good years on it. couple of them have been patched from protrusions, but they're still lookin good. 11 years old!
only time these tires aren't garaged is when they're at the lake
I do not have Carlisle tires but have read quite a bit about them on rv.net in the 5th wheel section. Go here about some recalls or just do a search for Carlisle in the 5th wheel section. Probably the same type of discussion in the trailer section also.
