Change a pintle eye to a receiver that takes a ball?

Hey Guys, I have a trailer that has a pintle eye setup. I am trying to see if I can take that off and mount something so I can use a standard ball receiver set up. Does any thing like this exist?

Thanks!!

I know they make replacement ball hitches for the trailer side. I used to have a boat that the trailer side of the hitch twisted and I just replaced the whole assembly. I would think it would depend on how the frame of the trailer is shaped. Mine was a V so it was an easy find.

Good deal! Glad I could help.

I converted from pintle to ball so I could add weight distribution and sway control. Is that your intention also? It is a noble quest. My trailer was very unruly with the pintle hitch, but got manners with the WD and sway control.

You know I was thinking about getting sway control but to be honest I have not heard of weight distribution. I would guess it does what the name says but im not sure how it works.

Weight Distribution Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com

Great info. WD is essential in towing anything over 5000lbs. Check out your hitch, it will amaze you how low the rating is on your hitch w/o WD.
