choosing a brake controller

i own a 83 f250 6.9 2wd. i am looking to get a new brake controller. i had an energizer but didnt work. looking for a new one that is good for large loads. i tend to tow large trailers. 3 axel 5th wheels and 4 axel goose neck.
wondering if anyone has tried this one.

not experienced with it but amazon has it cheaper than your ebay listing. amazon has it with mixed results ie 3 stars. i would recommend going on amazon and seeing how they're rated. i currently have a prodigy that i likeon my 02, 6 years old and 0 problems, and built-in ford one on my '08 that works nice.

IMO, some items aren't worth the risk of off brand. If your wanting reliable sure stops with those loads, a brand name controller is best. I looked ( admittedly not too hard) and couldn't find much info for the Bully controller, and what reviews I found were leaning towards the negative side.

With that said, I have used Tekonsha since 1989 and currently use a Prodigy. Well worth every penny it cost me, when it comes to safety.

If you shop around a Prodigy can be had for $100 and it will work for you, and every time you hit the brakes you'll be happy you spent the extra money.

I've had experience with Draw-tite activatorII its reese and tekoshana equivalent and a non-digital tekoshana all positive. I own both a resse and activatorII. I just prefer a digital unit.

I have two prodigy's, so you can tell I like them. They aren't as good as the factory built-in controller in my 2005 F250, but they are better than anything else I tried. Word of caution, I think they are only rated for three axles so double check that before you burn one out.

Looking at the box from the Prodigy P2 I bought last year in preparation for 3000 miles towing a horse trailer it shows rated for 1-4 axles. I have had and driven quite a few trailers with a variety of controllers and the Prodigy P2 is the best I have used so far.

I believe the P3 can handle hydro over electric and the P2 can't, the P3 also has a much nicer display and a bunch of pretty colors.
