I bought a '93 F250 and I just remembered that when I bought one of my Dodges the maual said to run a relay if I'm running more than a few trailer lights. I ran a seperate switch to the trailer plug on my '00 Dodge. (they said it could burn up my headlight switch)
So both of my trailers have about 25 running lights, do I need to use a seperate switch to protect my head light circuit from being overloaded?

Yes with that many lites you have to be drawing atleast 15 amps[unless they are led] and with the length of wire feeding the circuit I bet closer to 20 amps.Run another switch or relay.I have replace more than one hdlite switch because of horse trailers looking like a Xmas tree going down the road.Stan
Alright, I wasn't sure if Fords came with the relay or what. I guess Dodge does IF it is a factory tow package.
