Driveline Vibration in 05 F-350 Dually

Need Help. A friend of mine has a new 05 F-350 CC Dually with automatic and 6.0. He tow's a 30ft. gooseneck horse trailer. He gets a driveline vibration between 60 and 70. The dealer has shimmed the carrier bearing and gotten most of the vibration out when the truck is unloaded but when you hook the trailer up and load it down the vibration returns. Ford is trying to tell him the trailer is too heavy which is BS. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know of a fix for it.

Re: Driveline Vibration in 05 F-350 Dually

might have a defective U-joint. Take it to a different dealer if his not getting the problem taking care of.

The tech's don't make any money troubleshooting.

Ill try to help you. Try measuring the shaft were they cometogetyer the splin part when empty then hook up the trailer, remesure the distance the spline must run in the middle of the yoke. If it doesnot it wobbles in the yoke at high speeds.

The same thing was wrong with mine but it did it taking off. How many shims are between the carrier bearing and the bracket. I had to fix mine myself. I gave the dealer 3 chances
