Drop reciever?

I need a drop recierver for my travel trailer. I have a 12" drop and need one about 17" to 20" of drop. The one I have is adjustable but not far enough. Measuring from the top of the reciever to where the ball needs to be is about 16 inchs. Anyone have a link to someone who custom makes these or where to find.

Thanks

A drop receiver is a whole 'nother world than a drop ball mount. Here's a source for a drop ball mount:

Click on this link:
The Hitch Corner sells trailer hitch accessories

Then scroll down a couple of pages until you see
"HEAVY DUTY Class 3, 2" Receiver, Ball Mounts
Solid Shank with Painted Black Finish"
then look in the "drop" column for 14", 16" and 18".

They have 2" ball mounts with 14", 16" and 18" drop for $200 to $214 each. But the limit is 7,500 pounds gross trailer weight or 750 pounds max hitch weight, whichever is first. Since a properly loaded TT will have about 11 or 12 percent hitch weight, then the 750 pounds hitch weight will be your limiter. So the max trailer weight you can safely tow with one of those ball mounts (drawbars) is around 6,250 to 6,800 pounds. If your trailer grosses more than that, then you're up the proverbial stink creek without a paddle.

Scroll down the page a bit more and you'll see the same ball mounts but in stainless steel for a bit more money.

If you literally want a drop receiver, then you'll probably have to make your own. Start with a Reese TowBeast (Titan) receiver, then use very heavy steel plate and angle iron to fabricate the drop-down frame that connects the receiver to the frame of the truck. Drop the receiver down so you can get by with only a 4" or 6" or at the most 7.75" drop on the ball mount. Then that same source sells the 2" ball mounts with up to 6" drop that will handle a trailer weight 10,000 pounds. Or they sell the 2.5" Titan ball mount with up to 7.75" drop that will handle a trailer up to 12,000 pounds.

what you are looking for is the ball mount and NOT the receiver. The receiver is the part mounted to the truck. take a look at the REESE site or Draw-tite site. 16" is a lot of drop and there are issues with the weight angles on the ball mount.
