Equal-i-zer Hitch for cheap!

Just picked up an '02 Jayco Talon 28STM for $8500 last week I needed an sway/equalizer hitch and all the RV dealers I called said to go with the Equal-i-zer. The cheapest price I found from any dealer was $525 + tax with no ball. I orderd one online from http://www.rvwholesalers.com/catalog...hp?mode=search for $399 NO TAX AND SHIPPED FREE! (Why does anyone buy anything locally now a-days!)

No I don't work for them but I thought I'd pass the good price along.

Anyone use one of these? Are they really the best?

Re: Equal-i-zer Hitch for cheap!

The Equal-i-zer is a fine hitch when properly adjusted for the load. Another fine hitch is the Reese Dual Cam. Both are in the same price range and both have their good/bad points. I have used both, liked the ease of hooking up the Equal-i-zer, like the sway control of the Dual Cam. I never experienced sway with either hitch. Broke the bottom bolt on the hitch head on the Equal-i-zer while pulling my 8500# travel trailer, bent the two 1/4" plates holding the head to the shank. The top bolt was bent, but not broken (thank goodness). The Equal-i-zer came with grade 5 bolts for this, Reese Dual Cam comes with grade 8 bolts. Reason for the Reese is nobody locally had an Equal-i-zer at the time (a week-end in Nashville, TN while on a trip).
