Re: EZ-Hitch "The best towing accessory ever!"

Nope. IMO the BEST hitch is a AGRi hitch. I have two. One is a Brute II. The other a DMI. -You back up CLOSE to hitch. Then you pull lever and can extend the drawbar about 14" and swing it about 30 degrees. (a dang WIDE range of motion) then when hooked up just back up and it will lock for length and at first turn (in direction other then swung) it will lock for side to side. Then it is spring loaded for jerks/surges. Will take any weight (reasonable or not) a person can pull. I wouldn't consider any other bumper hitch.

Re: EZ-Hitch "The best towing accessory ever!"

Hey8theman,
I use the EZ-hitch as well but I have a slight variation. I use a pair of "Hitching Sticks" (magnetic sitcks that go on your hitch and trailer) to get me "in the ball park" and then let the EZ Hitch take over for the final adjustments. I can hitch my 32' trailer all by myself while the wife is getting the kids ready to go. Since we store our trailer away from home in a storage facility this helps a lot - cutting down our prep time when leaving for a trip!

I had to enlarge the hole in the EZ Hitch slightly so the ball would go through it but it was a simple process.

Where did you get the hitching magnetic sticks and where do you mount?

Re: EZ-Hitch "The best towing accessory ever!"

Thanks OT, but I don't see how that will help that much with a standard trailer........looks more like a gooseneck apparatus.

Re: EZ-Hitch "The best towing accessory ever!"

I dont jave any problem hitching up by myself. Trailer is 8 foot wide and truck is 8 foot wide. Line up the sides of both and then just straight back. Usually have it hooked up in about 2-3 minutes.

Besides theres no wife to yell at or have yell at me

Re: EZ-Hitch "The best towing accessory ever!"

I participate in tractor driving competitions and I have to be able to the the hitch right over the hold without having to move the trailor. So, in doing this, it helps in drive truck as well. I have an adjustable pintle hitch and an adjustble tounge on the trailor. I leave the trailor a little low ( so that it can glide on not too easily but not hard iither) so that I can "feel" where the trailor is in relation to my hitch thats the way I hitch up. As someone already said, once you do it enough, you know exactly where everythings got to be no matter what your attack angle to get the hitch on the ball. maybe thats good from someone pulling small loads every once in a while, I am not a fan.
