F250 GVW change?

What year did the F250 get a boost in the GVW rating from 8800lbs to something higher?

It was in CY 2004, but it was the 2005 model that began hitting the streets in August, 2004.

The 2005-up model comparable to your current 2002 F250 PSD 4x4 SuperCab Shortbox has a GVWR of 9,800 pounds. The 2005-up trucks are a little heavier than your older model, so you'd gain about 800 pounds of payload compared to your current ride when it was stock.

next truck - F350

Based on what we are hauling, we already know we are over our payload allowable so we'll be getting the F350 next time around.

Gotta pay this used one off first!

Assuming you mean GVWR, then all '99 thru '04 F-350 SRWs have:

9,700 pounds with California (and Yankeeland) emissions.

9,900 pounds without California (and Yankeeland) emissions.

thats usualy cheaper than a new truck

look at speed channel's website they have a truck show on there and they usualy have frankentruck in there it has a 550 rear in a350 for your body style you may want to do that

88beast, while that may WORK, it doesn't make me legal.

Since I'd be traveling into another country and across numerous provinces/states with this load, it's important for me to be legal.

If I went by that 8800 I couldn't haul a thing... Load it up and go. I tow
a 10k TT and fill the back of the truck, then add 2 adults and 2 kids.

Just taps the overloads when on the road.
