Factory trailer wiring package

Purchased a used gooseneck, and electric brake system didn't work. Found poor ground, and system worked for about 200 miles, then brake controller indicated "brake overload". Decided to rework trailer, so pulled all wiring and when completed, attempted to rewire.
2000 F350 appears to have factory setup, and Ford dealer says its on the original build as per Oasis. Plug wiring on truck does not measure as per Ford diagram, or as per acessconnect.com diagram. Installation does not seem to have been tampered with.
Factory: (pg 95-8) Pin 1 left turn - Pin 2 Ground - Pin 3
Brake - Pin 4 Right turn - Pin 5 12V - Pin 6 tail - Pin 7 reverse light.
Acessconnect: 1-grd, 2-brake, 3 tail, 4-rt, 5-12v, 6-rt,7-b/u.
As wired. 1-grd, 2-brake, 3-tail, 4-12v, 5-lft, 6-rt, 7-bu

Are you talking about an in bed connector, or the one mounted on the factory reciever hitch?

From what I have seen so far, the one on the reciever hitch is from the factory tow package, and any in bed connectors are added at the same time as the gooseneck hitch. The in bed connector seems to be however the hitch intsaller preferred, with whatever connector he felt like using that day.

On my dad's 01 dually, the in bed connector was wired with a 6 pin connector. This is convenient, giving the truck 4, 6, and 7 pin connectors. All connectors are hooked into the factory 7 wire harnes, and could easily be converted to 7 pin.

On my 06 F350, the in bed connector is a 7 pin connector that the jerkoff spliced in with 6 wire cable. It has the RV conector, but one pin is dead. He also used crimp on splices, and about 6" of electrical tape so that I blew the trailer tow battery charge fuse the first time I used it Sometime this spring I intend to run a new piece of cable, and heat shrink connectors to re-do the in bed connector.

If you're having problems with an in bed connector, look under the truck on the drivers side of the spare tire. You should be able to see where the wire comes down from the wall of the bed and is spliced into the wiring for the reciever hitch connector. I would look into how they did that and see if you can find the problem.

I am having trouble with the in the bed connector. Does anyone have a link to the wiring diagram. The bumper tow has NO error but the in the bed connector is showing a fault.
Thanks

If its the same type of conector it should be wired the same as the bumper connector.
If you take the bumper connector loose you can see which color wire goes to which pin. Follow them back and you should be able to find where wires are spliced on to go up the side of the bed to the gooseneck connector. They do not have their own harnesses, they use the same one. If the bumper connector is good you just have a problem in the splice, or in the goosneck connector itself.

Factory trailer wiring harness.

I finally figured out the wiring on the 7 pin at the bumper, the factory wiring diagram is worthless, but the one downloaded from acessconnect.com is correct, once you figure out it is a mirror image. You're right, the one in the bed is altogether different.
