I got a ste of firestone air bags and the compressor kit for Christmas and was wondering where people where putting the compressor at. I would also like some ideas where to mount the gauge?

Mine isn't the one that comes with the kit, but it's probably similar.
It's mounted above the spare tire on the inside of the frame rail. I made an adapter out of steel plate with tapped holes to match existing holes in the frame. Mounted the compressor to the plate with its own set of tapped mounting holes, then mounted the adapter to the frame.
Plumbed it, wired it, sprayed the mount & bolts with undercoating, put the spare back. Haven't seen it for at least two years.

After I moved both Optima batteries to the passenger side I had tons of room to install the compressor, pump for water injection and fuse panel on the drivers side.
I removed the drivers side battery and air intake assembly and mounted the compresser and relay to the cross frame that holds the radiater. The only problem appeared when the drivers side headlite burned out and I had to remove the relay to get the the light to change it. Hope this helps.

It will slide right into the black plastic tray behind the rear seat; assuming crew cab. Then the line to the bags can go out thru the rubber grommet on te back of the cab. The lines to and from the dash can go under the door sill plates. this has worked for me in all three trucks. The compressor still looks new, because it's not out in the weather. I also bought a surplus refrigeration tank for $30 and it friction fit into the tray right beside the comp.
I just sold my 2005 F250. Compressor & tank were mounted inside toolbox. Gage & valve were mounted inside center console. Keep in mind, if you mount the compressor inside the cab it is a little noisy. If you mount it outside the cab, it can pick up debris.

I dont like the idea of the compressor being inside the cab. I was hoping to put it under the hood somewhere. I would like to here from others where they mount their compressor. I think I might try to mount the gauge and switches on my AIC bracket.

Like others have said, mounted both Optimas on the passenger side. This leaves a ton of room for other goodies like the compressor (I went with a larger Viair) a small ammo box for tools, water/meth... The compressor only has a few water spots on it, probably from the zoodad mod but other than that, It doesn't overheat or suck in water.
I have the guage in my custom center console. The guage that comes with the kit (assuming single needle) could be replaced with any 2 1/16 guage. I replaced it with an Autometer 0-150 psi guage that matches the rest of my guages. I almost mounted the switch right next to the 4x4 switch and then placed the guage in my overhead or pillar pod but I ran out of room. It would require a little extra routing of wire and tubing but would make for a clean install.

I mounted mine under the hood, passenger side. I'll take a picture and post it.

Try here. I accidently named the file "Vacuum Pump". Not sure what I was thinking because it's the air compressor.....
