There is a company out here that cuts the frame on the mega cabs and lengthens them so they can have the eight foot bed. IMO, they are kinda cool but I dont like the cutting the frame part, just doesnt seem strong after that. Needless to say all the conversions I have seen have at least 6 inches of lift and at least 37s, which in my book just screams "I am a pavement poundin' pretty boy"

In the longer term i think the 7.3 would probably stand up to the workload better, most gassers are not built as strong as a 7.3... now if you were comparing to a CTD would be more interesting... BP.
