Ford ITBC: Trailer brakes lock when braking uphill... ??
Interesting observation on my 05 Ford Brake Controller. I added it after the fact so its not tied into the master cylinder and the computer isn't programmed to recognize it so those may be factors in the problem.
When towing my 18" open trailer, on flat and down hill sections, the ITBC controls the trailer brakes just fine. Proportional voltage output depending on braking inertia.
Except on uphill braking efforts. For some reason, braking on an uphill dramatically amplifyies the voltage output as shown on the display to the point of constant lockup on the trailer brakes.
Anyone know why? Adjusting the gain doesn't really has a significant effect on the problem.
