Hi,
Just wondering what fords new built in trailer brakes do,
We bought a new 2006 ford F550 and now we are looking for a trailer for it, and I'm wondering if the new controller requires different brakes or any special requirements to integrate it with the pickup?
No i does not require any different brakes or other special requirements. The controller does the same that any other controller you would buy to tow a trailer with a pickup. You adjust the level of it from 0 to 10. When you apply your brakes the out put meter rises depending on how hard you are appling them. The system works great. Also if by chance your electrical hook up comes out and you go manually use the brake controller it will show "Trailer Disconnected" on the instrament panel.

Just plug in the trailer and go. Don't need to do anything but adjust the power output for your particular trailer. By far the best brake controller I've ever had....
