I have two questions about my upcoming gooseneck ball installation. Truck is a F250 CC Long Bed with X-springs front and 4" blocks rear (instead of the two inch). Truck also has aftermarket 4" Magnaflow and pretty big toolbox.
1) I want a B&W but have heard about interference problems with the larger exhaust. What is the best ball that will not interfere. But I will probably use the ball only 2x per month - but potentially more...In other words - I won't be pulling daily....
2) Can I keep my existing toolbox in my pictures - it is pretty large and sits pretty high over the bedrails.
I'll be mostly pulling LQ trailers or trailers with a tack room in the front.
Thanks in advance for the help...

Flywheel,
I just installed a B&W Gooseneck hitch (yesterday) in my 2006 F350 6.0 (lariat pkg. on a short box with single rear wheels) B&W now includes a plate / bracket that is used to extend (down) the rear exhaust, so that you can get the hitch in it's proper place. So, the 4" exhaust shouldn't be a problem. The extension plate bolts directly into the existing holes in the frame too. As for your truck box, based on your truck pic's (very nice looking rig) I don't see a problem there either. Usually, your horse / stock trailer sits well over 12" above your bed rails, so you should be able to swing pretty well around w/o hitting your box. I've got a "Husky" truck box on mine and the trailer swings freely w/o hitting it...
Hope this info. helps, good luck and happy trailering!

Leo - Thank you very much for the response. I have one more question....I installed the exhaust and got the tailpipe right where I want it....any higher would be too close and any lower it would...well....look too low...Will the kit lower the tailpipe, or can I adjust it back up? Thanks again,
John

Morning John,
On my stock 2006, 6.0 - the kit lowered my tail paipe like 2" I actually had to push down on it while my buddy underneath worked to
get the hitch in place. Once the hitch was in place it went back up an inch or so....On the 06's, there is a rubber mount that is on a hinge which lets the tailpipe adjust and flex some, I guess for uneven road conditions? Without actually seeing your case, I'm not 100% sure but my best guess is that you'll have to detach your tailpipe, push it aside temporarily to get the hitch in place, then either fabricate your own bracket or maybe be able to use the one I mentioned that came with the B&W kit. I think there should be enough room all the way around to get your hitch in and also get your tailpipe to where you like it....Maybe a call to B&W might be in order? 800.248.6564
Hope this helps John - Good Luck!

Flywheel,
Take a look at the Reese Signature Series Gooseneck and Fifth wheel hitches. I have the 18K lb Fifth wheel hitch, and the under bed hidden rail. If I bought the Gooseneck hitch, it will also hook up to my rail system.
