Great MPGs towing

I just got back 700 miles round trip with my 2006 Rockwood 33'TT. Relatively flat haul in Ohio to Michigan and back to Ohio. 12.3 mpgs going 65mph and 11.7 coming back at 70+ mph.

Re: Great MPGs towing

That is great. I could squeeze 11 with my 3.73 at 65 and 11 with my 4.10 at 58ish...I miss those nice road gears. Its like the 4.10 is missing overdrive, I keep looking for the top gear. Enjoy them!

Re: Great MPGs towing

Just got back from another Michigan trip to the sand dunes. Round trip 923 miles @ 11.5 mpg's. I keep it around 65 to 70, and my wife was driving around 75 mpg and the mpg's only dropped to 11.3. She did a fine job behind the wheel..

Re: Great MPGs towing

Got back from Martinsville,Va. Going down into a strong headwind got 10.4 mpg. Coming back under normal conditions at 65 to 70 mph I got 11.5 mpg's. This was a combination of highway with mountains and 2 lane roads with mountain switchbacks and very steep grades. I was towing a 33' Rockwood TT. If anyone has been on route 58 from Martinvilles to I77 you'll know what i mean. Total round trip 1152 miles. Great trip with no problems

Re: Great MPGs towing

Just got back from round trip to Lexington, KY. Scaled at just over 24K#. Trip down Thursday, October 18 into a stiff headwind, with AC operating, was 8.9 mpg (my worst mileage ever). Return trip with tailwind, with AC operating, was 11.3. Complete roundtrip average for 760 miles was 10.3 mpg with Jody's 80e programming. Last time I towed this route I scaled 26K#+ and the truck had OEM tranny, turbo, 3.5" exhaust with BTM, AD injectors and stock HPOP and AIS was over 11 mpg IIRC. That was with Jody's 40 tow programming. I was hoping for an improvement but I will take it.
