I recently read on the forum that the 2000 SRW F250 & F350 have the same rear suspension/springs it this is true why is the 250 rated at 8800# and the 350 at 9900#. Did I miss something? Is there a way to increase the suspension of the F250 to support 2000# 5th wheel pin weight??? Thanks Monte

No the springs are not exactly alike. but if you want to add some carry capacity to the rear add some Ride Right firestone air bags.
you will be able to handle a 2000 pin wieght easy then.
best to check your tire load carry capacity though. make sure they can handle the extra wieght.

The easy way to tell is look at the rear axle rating on the door. If it is under 6000lbs then the limit is the springs. If it is 6000lbs or greater then the spring packs are the same as the F350. I have seen rear axle ratings as low as 4750lbs. This was determined by the rear springs. Air bags can be added to increase the load capacity since the axle itself will handle 7200lbs. One advantage with that type of setup would be a better ride when empty. The only question would be the legality of exceeding the GVWR of the truck. The GVWR is there for registration depending on the state of residence. A lot of states base registration fees, safety inspections, and emissions testing on the GVWR of the vehicle.
Odd since some have a helper spring and added hangers to bounce on.
the F250 didnt have them. I tried to buy those extra items for my F250
and was told to try a junkyard. The extra payload spring came on my
F350 stock. Perhaps the pack itself is the same, but the overload spring isnt.

My F350 didn't come with the helper springs but I was able to buy the kit from Ford, and the instructions indicated that it would have also fit the F250. So someone gave you incorrect info.

The F250 will handle that pin weight stock without any issues. My toyhauler 5er is running about 2500lbs pin weight and the truck handles it just fine. The truck sits nice and level when ready to go and it rides well.
