Hijacker Hitch

I'm about to acquire slightly used Hijacker SL16.
It was used on a 98 Dodge 2500. The original mounting brackets were welded to the frame of the Dodge. I've emailed Hijacker about replacements.
I've never used/installed a 5th wheel before so I'm hoping ya'll can provide me a list of "gotcha's" to look out for.
Thanks

Re: Hijacker Hitch

Well I dont know if they are 'gotchas', but some comments:

Search to see if you can get universal bolt-on brackets to match your truck and hitch. There are more today than when I bought my hitch. Might make the job a bit easier.

The biggest issue is there is no way to peak from the underside into the bed to see where your rails will land except drilling the first hole << use a 1/16" dia just in case it isnt in the right place.

Get the right dia drill-bit. Very important. Use pilot holes.
