Which Hitch is better?

Hey guys!

Does anyone know which one of the following two companies make a better adjustable drop hitch? Anyone out there have either one of these hitches.

Company #1
Hitch Solutions The Rapid Hitch

The rapid hitch I'm looking at the 5.25 inch drop with the stainless steel balls. There standard platted steel balls will eventually rust. I'm worried about the webbing / groves breaking if someone were to hit me or if I were to back into something if the slide piece wasn't attached. You can purchase a locking mechanism for the slider.

Company #2
Diversi-Tech Hitch Products

The Diversitech hitch only comes with platted steel balls. I would go with the 6 inch drop with these guys. Their locking mechanism is much better and they have anti-rattle balls for when you're not trailering. There isn't a webbing issue like on the rapid hitch. I believe that they are both rated at the same tongue and trailer weights. They also claim that their hitch machining is much more precision then that of the rapid hitch giving it a cleaner look.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I would be tempted to say that the rapid hitch is better. The pin going through the slider has more surface area to displace load than the pin on the other hitch. A buddy of mine has the 5 1/4" drop rapid hitch and it looks and feels very solid. I have pulled with it and was very pleased, even on the lowest drop, and in the time he has owned it he hasn't had any problems with it.

That's just my opinion, interpret it however you see fit. These hitches are pretty spendy, so choose wisely.

Hitch

B&W also offers a "stow & go". I have one and love it. I also use the B&W turnover ball goose neck and the Companion 5th wheel. B&W makes a great product and is worth checking out before you spend the money.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the responses. I'll go check out this stow and go solution.

FWIW, I have the 10" drop Rapid Hitch. I've had it for about 3 years and it's still working good for me. I tow my boat (roughly 5K) and some flatbed trailers with it.
