I recently bought an in bed camper for my truck and it has an option to run 12 volt and came with its own battery. I was told that I could run an isolator kit from the battery to the battery on the camper to charge it along with the others when the truck is running. I really dont want to have to run a wire all the way from the battery back to the bed, so:
Is there a wire toward the back somewhere that I can tap into and tie this isolator kit in?
EDIT: I cannot use the 7 wire plug on the back of the truck as I am usually hauling a trailer at the same time as the camper.
If there is a hot wire on the 7 plug on my 2002 could I pull it from the plug and tie directly into it that way?

Yes you can splice into the orange wire on the 7 pin ( which should be top right ), it is the trailer battery feed which is key on running hot. This is assuming your not towing a trailer that requires battery feed. In that case you would be better off wiring in a seperate isolator. I have done it both ways on my trucks and it works fine. You can also tie into the trailer connection wiring for your camper exterior lights if required.

If I tie into this do I still need the isolator kit? In my searching I was lead to believe that there is already an isolator in place for just this reason?
No you do not need an isolator to splice into that wire.
There is already a relay built into the truck that provides that wire with power ( key on and running only ) and you can verify it yourself with a voltmeter.
