How do you install an ICC circuit?

Is there a way to put a flash function in your running lights so you can flash the trailer lights as a thanks when someone flashes you that it is OK to move back over into the right lane? Do they make a normally closed/momentary open switch?

Re: How do you install an ICC circuit?

Somebody a while back came up with a setup using two relays that would flash them off if on, or on if off with one switch. Pretty cool setup. You might be able to do a search and find it.

Why bother with rigging up switches and circuits to flash your trailer lights when all that's needed and accepted is 2 flashes of the the emergency flashers. The switch for that is right in front of the steering wheel.

Re: How do you install an ICC circuit?

All you have to do is run your trailer tail-light wire through a dash mounted On/Off toggle switch like on big trucks. Another option is use an always on, momentary off dash mounted push button switch. Come to think of it, there's a spring loaded momentary toggle switch also. We used to have Echlin, etc, parts catalogs at work and you wouldn't believe the number of switches, etc, that's out there.

Re: How do you install an ICC circuit?

THIS is how you install an ICC circuit.

The one momentary button will cause your parking light circuit to do the opposite of whatever the headlight switch is telling it to do. It also takes the load of all the lights off the headlight switch and puts it on the relays.

The faults of the system are that it will not cancel the parking circuit if it has been activated by the autolamp switch, and it also kills the fogs with the parks, as they are tied to the parking lamp power.
